Comment on Government Shutdown 10/1/25
We at AgingCT are aware of the troubling news out of Washington DC this morning with respect to last night’s government shutdown.
The effects of this shut-down on community-based services may vary by region, so please feel free to reach out to your local Area Agency on Aging with specific questions if need be. If you are not sure who your local Area Agency on Aging is, please visit the AgingCT website.
In the meantime, we are working with our state and federal partners to provide the most accurate and up-to-date information as soon as it is available. As we await additional details, please take a moment to reach out to CT’s federal legislative contingent and let them know what happens when there’s a delay in federal funding. We are fortunate to have a delegation that has been very supportive of issues of importance to older adults and their families. Now is a great time to let them know you appreciate their leadership, and to ensure that they continue to strongly advocate for CT’s older adults.
