Make a difference in the lives of people living with Dementia.

To become a Dementia Friend, you join others in a one-hour Dementia Friends Information Session to learn five key messages and a bit about what it’s like to live with dementia. As a Dementia Friend, your new understanding and attitudes will guide the practical actions you can take to help someone with dementia living in your community.

Want to champion the Dementia Friends movement?

First, attend a Dementia Friends information session to become Dementia Friend.

Next, let us know you want to attend a training to become a Dementia Friends Champion.

Dementia Friends information sessions are facilitated by volunteer Champions who have been trained by LiveWell (formerly the Alzheimer’s Resource Center). Champions training will equip you with the knowledge and activities needed to facilitate Dementia Friends Information Sessions with friends, family, colleagues and the wider community. The goal of the Dementia Friends Session is to help community members understand dementia and the small things they can do to make a difference for people living with dementia.
