You can help us make an impact!

NCAAA is grateful to have had the opportunity to continue to serve older adults, people with disabilities, and their caregivers in the Greater Hartford Region this year.

Your donation supports the work we do in the community to provide a safety net for individuals who may “fall through the cracks” due to myriad eligibility requirements and sporadic funding levels. A snapshot of this year’s outcomes include:

  • 54,000 Caregivers received Benefits Education;
  • 6,600 Caregivers received Information and Assistance;
  • 157 Caregivers benefited from respite care and 125 received Gap-Filling services such as durable medical equipment and incontinence supplies;
  • 1,700 consumers were enrolled in the health plans of their choice and
  • 6,300 consumers were reached either one-on-one or through public appearances.

Our focus on local priorities:

  • We funded 52 programs in the community including Elderly Nutrition Programs that served approximately 409,000 home delivered meals and 156,000 congregate meals in the community cafes.
  • We added an interactive Elderly Housing Database to our website

Our commitment to underserved communities:

  • Through ACL-funded Vaccine Access Grants, NCAAA intentionally recruited grantees serving communities of color and non-English speaking individuals;
  • With support from the NCAAA Board of Directors, our Senior Community Assistance Network (SCAN) sought to elevate fledgling community organizations through technical assistance and strategic planning;
  • NCAAA Partnered with SAGE and Justice in Aging for our Annual Meeting entitled “Medicare and the LGBTQ+ Community: What Advocates Need to Know”;
  • Joined the CT DD Council’s Community of Practice Grant called “Bridging Aging & Disability” to foster relationships and encourage cross-sector alignment.
