The Older Americans Act (OAA), under the purview of the federal Administration for Community Living (ACL) is a primary funding source of activities provided by NCAAA. As a requirement of OAA funding, all federally designated Area Agencies on Aging are required to prepare an Area Plan that outlines priorities, goals, program objectives, and service strategies at three-to-five-year intervals*. Area Plans are developed based on the needs of older adults in the region using a combination of quantitative and qualitative data across a variety research methods. In addition to identifying, communication, and implementing Agency OAA funding priorities, Area Plans also identify community focal points for aging services.
