Feeling a bit lonely or looking for ways to get connected with friends and family? Trying to remain at home independently but in need of some basic supportive devices? NCAAA’s “ASSIST Project” or “Assisting Socially Isolated Seniors to Thrive” can provide items and services to enhance quality of life in the community for older adults and individuals with disabilities.
Since 2000, individuals with family caregivers have had access to these “gap-filling” services through the National Family Caregiver Support Program. Thanks to the ASSIST program, individuals without caregivers can now also receive these benefits while funding is available.
Examples of frequently requested items include but are not limited to: laptops and tablets, incontinence supplies, lift chairs, and household appliances such as fans, air conditioners, and microwave ovens. Significant flexibility exists as personal needs may dictate. Eligibility: must be aged 60+ with some level of difficulty remaining at home.

The NC ASSIST Program is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)
Services will be provided for as long as funding remains available.
Available in the North Central Region ONLY.
